Shimla to Sangla

DAY 3
Sangla – Nako – Tabo
• Breakfast & check-out • Drive to Nako, visit Nako Lake & Monastery • En route, view the confluence of Sutlej & Spiti Rivers at Khab • Arrive in Tabo, check-in to hotel • Visit Tabo Monastery (996 AD), known as “Ajanta of the Himalayas” • Overnight stay at Tabo
DAY 4
Tabo to Kaza
Route: Tabo → Dhankar → Kaza Distance: 58 km | Travel Time: 2-3 hours Stay: Kaza (Night 5) Attend the morning prayers at Tabo Monastery before checking out. Drive to Kaza, the largest town in Spiti Valley. En route, visit Dhankar Monastery, an ancient Buddhist structure perched dramatically on a cliff, offering breathtaking valley views. Upon arrival in Kaza, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Kaza.
DAY 5
Sightseeing around Kaza – Send Out Postcards Stamped at the Top of the World
Route: Kaza → Langza → Hikkim → Komic → Kibber → Chicham → Kaza Distance: 90 km | Travel Time: 4-5 hours After breakfast, explore Spiti’s high-altitude villages and monasteries: • Visit Key Monastery, a 1000-year-old Buddhist monastery with beautifully painted rooms and prayer halls. • Explore Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office, where you can send a postcard. • Drive to Komic, one of the highest motorable villages in the world (15,027 ft). • Visit Langza, known for fossil-rich landscapes and a giant Buddha statue. • Explore Kibber, a remote village near the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. • Walk across Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest suspension bridge at 13,596 feet. Return to Kaza for an overnight stay.
DAY 6
Kaza –> Kalpa
• Breakfast & check-out • Visit Gue Monastery & Reckong Peo on the way • Arrive in Kalpa, check-in to hotel • Overnight stay in Kalpa
DAY 7
Kalpa – Chandigarh (Approx. 330 km / 9 Hours)
• Breakfast & check-out • Drive back to Chandigarh • Drop at Chandigarh Airport/Railway Station
